September Reopening – FAQs

Can Reception children bring their own wellies and leave them in school in September?

Yes, this will be fine. Please make sure their names are clearly marked in them.

Will key worker children be allowed to go back on the first day back even if they are not in the correct year group to go back on that day?

No. Children must come to school on their allocated start date dependent on their year group (see below.)

Will breakfast club be open on Monday 7th September 2020?

Breakfast Club places have been allocated to those families with the most need, many of whom have attended Breakfast club provision since school closure in March.  We will review the provision with an ambition to introduce more children once we receive further guidance from the Government.

Where can we get book bags?

Book bags are available to purchase from the school office, price £4. However, as we have requested that parents/carers do not enter the school site/buildings, we ask that you email informing us that you would like to purchase a book bag. The book bag will be handed to your child’s class teacher and they will pass it on to you at the gate when you collect your child. Please hand your payment to them in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with your child’s name and class.

Where can we get PE kit?

Our school uniform, including PE kit, is available from Smart Clothing, Units 5,6 & 7, Black Horse St, Bolton BL1 1SY (near Bolton Market) and Whittakers Schoolwear, 106 Deansgate, Bolton, BL1 1BD.

Will there be any arrangements for siblings to come out together at the same gate?

No, unfortunately not.

Will my child need to wear school uniform from 7th September?

Full uniform should be worn, including black school shoes and no earrings please. It is helpful if all uniform is labelled with your child’s name as it is expensive to replace.

How much are school meals in September?

School meals will be £1.80 per day/£9.00 per week from September for children in Years 3-6 who do not have eligibility to free school meals. Children in Reception – Year 2 receive a free school meal under the Government’s Universal Free School Meal Scheme. School meals for full time Nursery children and Nursery children who stay for 2.5 days are charged at £2.04 per day.
